About us

A little bit of history - Smart Chicks was set up to attract the services of talented staff wishing to work within our sister company Dicky Birds Nurseries.

The owner and manager have both worked extensively within the caring professions ranging from the NHS to running day care nurseries within the state and private sector.

With this experience it was decided that finding the best quality staff for the our parents and the nurseries could only be achieved by setting up our own recruitment agency - and so SMART CHICKS was born which fostered and promoted our ethos that children always deserve to be looked after by the best carers one can find.

In addition to having worked over 30 years within the childcare sector (between us) we have a wealth of experience of working alongside childcare inspectors such as Ofsted, The Care Commission* and additional outside agencies.

Leaving children in the care of others can be a very daunting process - how do we know? Because we have been there!
